It is truly pathetic that Western countries needed to witness the cruel crackdown of the Tibetan protests of March 2008 to realize that China does not deserve to host the Olympic Games. Of course, some bad news about the Chinese government is already known: no political freedom, no religious freedom, no freedom of speech, no freedom of the press, no worker's rights, work camps where unknown millions have been imprisoned, Catholics arrested who then "disappeared" along with Falun Gong practitioners and Buddhists (including the next Dalai Lama, a child who "disappeared" in 1995); forced abortions and sterilations for women who violate the rules of the one-child policy; a cruel and excessive use of the death penalty (90% of the world's executions take place in China, which are believed to be over 10,000 a year whose organs are removed without permission). It has been proven that more than 600 Chinese hospitals practice illegal harvesting of organs.
