Torch carriers in London were all sent an official statement prepared by spin-doctors.
In an email seen by The Mail on Sunday, Freud Communications' Pippa Rodger wrote: "As discussed, please find below the official statement that torchbearers can use should they receive any interview or media requests on the day."
The "message" was written by the representatives of the London Olympics, Freud Communications. Pippa Rodger said her email was sent to the representatives of all torchbearers.
